Dog Gives Birth to 11 Babies Then Doctors Realize All of Them Are Not Puppies
If you think you’ve seen it all when it comes to strange animal births, think again. A dog in Southern India has recently given birth to 11 babies, but the doctors who delivered them were surprised to find out that not all of the babies were puppies.
According to reports, the dog’s owner had noticed that her pet was pregnant and decided to take her to the vet when she went into labor. The vet assisted in delivering the 11 babies, which were initially thought to be a litter of healthy puppies. However, upon closer inspection, the doctors realized that some of the babies did not look like typical puppies.
After further examination, the vets determined that four of the babies were, in fact, dogs, while the other seven were actually foxes. It is believed that the dog mated with a wild fox while she was wandering around on her own.
While this may seem like an unusual occurrence, it is not unheard of for dogs to mate with other animals, including foxes. In fact, many domestic dogs have been known to mate with coyotes, wolves, and even bears, producing offspring that are sometimes referred to as “coywolves” or “wolfdogs.”
Despite the unexpected outcome, the dog and her babies are reportedly doing well and receiving proper care from their owner. As for the fox babies, they will eventually be released back into the wild once they are old enough to fend for themselves.
